- Only 17% of respondents report that conditions in the Yucatan region are
still poor
- Dramatic improvements were evident from December 2005 onwards.
- Cancun appears to have been affected greatest with approximately 90% of
respondents noticing the hurricane’s effects on business closures and
70% of respondents noticing an affect on its beaches.
- That said, approximately 60% of all respondents plan to return to the
Yucatan region in 2006. Of those who do not plan to re-visit the area,
only 14% cite the hurricane’s effects as a reason for them not to
return.
- In fact, nine out of ten respondents who visited the region are likely
to recommend the area as a vacation destination to others.

months (November, December, January)
- 632 responses received (Response rate: 10%),
- 321 responses used for analysis (respondents who actually traveled to
the Yucatan region recently)
