- The majority of Travelocity members surveyed (86%) indicate they will be
traveling more than 50 miles away from their home during the
November/December holiday season.
- Those people traveling in December are significantly more likely to stay
with friends & family while traveling (72.7%).
- Three-fifths (59.6%) are planning their holiday travel 2-3 months out.
- Recent terrorist attempts did not affect the members decisions to travel
over the holiday season (91%).
- Increased security alert levels only have an affect if the security code
is red (35.7%), otherwise it has no affect on holiday travel plans
(45.3%).
- The recent airport security changes do not necessarily make people feel
any safer while they are traveling (50.5%), while 20% didn’t even
realize there had been changes to airport security.

- Catching up with family and friends is what people look most forward to
during the holidays (72.3%).
- Getting to and from their holiday destination is the number one thing
people dread about the holidays (40.9%), followed by dreading going back
to work (31.5%) and gaining a few extra pounds (23.6%).
